My kids and I love crafts. What’s better than creating something fun: Making it a family activity! So what’s our favorite family tradition: decorating a plate! (Probably not what you thought, huh?)

This tradition of ours started when our first little was 3 months old. We don’t have set holidays or occasions that we do this for. Rather, we make a point to do at least 1-2 plates per year. What makes it fun for all of us: we each contribute to part of the “design,” each of us adding a little razzle-dazzle, resulting in a fun piece we can keep for years to come. It’s a great way for the kids to take pride in their work, as we display them in our home. This is also a huge hit with extended family. Those little baby toes and fingers have created some tear-provoking presents for the grandparents over the years. Check out a few of our plates below!

This one has Oliver’s footprints and Grandma’s thumbprints for the berries.

Daddy and Oliver’s thumbprints made the little people, while Mama did the border and wording.

We like to use these type of paint markers for the writing on the plates: https://amzn.to/3shJD8U

Tip!!
If you make a mistake, use a baby wipe to wipe off the paint. Allow the spot to dry (or dry with a paper towel) and try again!
