Grandmother Jeanette was my husband’s late grandmother. (Yes, it’s weird we both had paternal grandmother Jean(n)ettes. No, we’re not related-I double checked). Her recipe was passed down to me from my father-in-law. This recipe is always a hit. People always ask me for it, and quite a few friends/family members have incorporated it into their holiday meals each year. I love sharing recipes-and what a perfect time of year to share this one, with apple picking season right around the corner!

What’s great about this recipe is how simple it is. Even if you have no cooking or baking experience, you can pull this one off. They key to making your apple crisp extra delicious is to use a variety of different apples (tart and sweet). I have a big sweet tooth, so I usually double the topping (I also like to cover the apples completely with the crisp topping).
