This is a great craft for the busy and budget-friendly mama.
What you’ll need:
Pipe cleaners, marker, beads, styrofoam cup.
How to do it:
Draw a face on the styrofoam cup. Poke the pipe cleaners through both side of the cup so that each pipe cleaner makes 2 legs (one leg each on opposite sides of the cup). We like to make anything fun educational, so we take the time to count off the beads for each leg (1-8). I add an extra bead on the end of each leg, then wrap the end of the pipe cleaner around it to prevent the littles from getting poked. You can add a pipe cleaner hanger by inserting both ends through the center of the top of the surprise cup, creating a loop. Twist the end together inside the cup (this is easiest if done before adding the legs).
This is a fun craft to hang up (or make them into a garland).When your finished displaying these fine art pieces, just take them apart and re-use the pipe cleaners and beads!
Alternatives: you can also make these into spiders, or add an extra step and let the kiddos paint the cups before adding the legs.
